As Ghaziabad rubs shoulders with Las Vegas in the list of 10 most dynamic cities,
one can see that the upcoming Metro, 13 new flyovers and housing boom are just
a few pointers to its growth
From being a mofussil town to being catapulted to the list of 10 most dynamic cities in the world in which it joins Las Vegas, Toulouse, Moscow and Munich, Ghaziabad has managed to pull off a true feat. Ghaziabad is growing, and that too, at a rapid pace.
What’s most striking about Ghaziabad is frenzied building activity. Though the proven growth areas are Gurgaon and Greater Noida, Ghaziabad is catching up fast.
Developers attribute the rapid growth to Ghaziabad’s excellent connectivity with Delhi, as well as an established IT destination like Noida. Ghaziabad is very strategically located on the old Grand Trunk Road. Not only does it attract a sizeable IT/ITES workforce from Noida, it is affordable for those who can’t afford Delhi prices.
Also, the UP state government has announced its clearance for starting work on the first phase of Metro in Ghaziabad recently. The Anand Vihar line will go up to Kaushambi. The second phase, expected to be completed by 2011, will connect the Noida line to NH-24 .
In order to make Ghaziabad a city without red lights or closed railway crossings, 13 more flyovers will be added.
Many underpasses and railway over bridges will change the way one travels in Ghaziabad.
More than 14 malls already operational and many more in the pipeline, one can say that Ghaziabad is the new entertainment hub for Delhi and NCR.
According to SK Zaman, Chief Architect and Town Planner, GDA, “Ghaziabad will see massive growth in the time to come. This is because of its inherent advantages like proximity to Delhi and easy land availability. The infrastructure of the city has also improved over time. The entry of good developers has also been good for the city. The difference between earlier development and now is that the development is planned and systematic . It is true that for various reasons, Ghaziabad is booming.”
All this means that Ghaziabad is great to invest in and a good destination for both commercial and residential builders.
