Ghaziabad gets Rs 1,500 crore infrastructure push
GHAZIABAD: The
board of the Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) earmarked the bulk of
expenditure estimated to be incurred by it for financial year 2015-16 on
development of various infrastructure works in the city. A total of Rs 1,500
crore was earmarked by the board on Monday for expenditure in
various infrastructure works including extension of the Delhi Metro from
Dilshad Garden to New Bus Stand, the Hindon Elevated Road and the proposed
21-km Northern Peripheral Road.
The proposed six-lane expressway, which was originally planned to be 60 metres in width has now been re-designed as a 45-metre-wide corridor with the same number of lanes, owing to land constraints.
According to the GDA, though the construction of the corridor would take place in three phases, the entire land required for the project has been obtained in a single phase.
